About AOL Browser power browsing

The power browsing features in AOL Browser include several different actions and utilities which may be performed on a web page. Power browsing can highlight links, change the appearance of the browser, make a web page more accessible, provide useful utilities, and even let you have a bit of fun.

Power browsing features affect only the current web page. The selected Power Browsing feature disappears once you have refreshed, closed, or navigated past the web page. Power browsing features do not affect plug-in media files, such as advertisements created with Flash or QuickTime.

The power browsing features include:

  • Who Owns This Web Site? Provides information about the owner of a website.
  • Show All Links as Full URLs Displays the actual URL web address for all hyperlinks.
  • Highlight Links to Other Web Sites Highlights text links - links to pages within the current website have green highlighting and links to pages on other websites have red highlighting.
  • Page Display Multiple page display options to make a web page more accessible include yellow highlighting of all links, page zoom features, making the page high-contrast, and removing background images.
  • Utilities Three utilities include listing all links on a web page in a new window, a text search feature, and a web search feature based on selected text on a web page.
  • Just for Fun Three page display options designed to tickle your funny bone.
  • Add Your Own Menu Item... Allows you to add your own JavaScript tools to the Power Browsing menu.
  • Manage Power Browsing Tools... Allows you to edit or delete items you added to the Power Browsing menu.
