About your address book

Your address book contains information about all the contacts that you have added manually or that were added for you automatically.

The main address book page shows the following information about each contact listed:

How to access your address book

You can view either a brief summary for every email address you have in your address book or detailed information about a single email address.

To view your address book list:
On the Email window, click the Addresses button.

To view/edit details for an email address:
1. On the Email window, click the Addresses button.
2. Click the name or the pencil icon next to the name of the contact you would like to view or edit.
3. The detailed view offers the following tabs for each contact listed:

Address email from your address book

You can address an email directly from your address book before you start the email.

1. On the Address Book window, click the box next to each email address to which you want to send an email to place a tick mark in it.
2. Click the Write Email button. The email addresses you selected will appear in the To: box.

Running man status

The running man will be displayed next to an address if the person is a member or an Instant Messenger user and you've set the preferred email setting under the contact's name tab to a screen name or a Netscape email address.

If the running man icon is visible next to an address, it can show you that person's Instant Messenger online status:

If that person is logged into Instant Messenger, the icon will look normal and clicking the icon will open a window, where you can either start an IM session or email the person.

If they are not signed on, the icon will be greyed-out and you will not be able to start an IM session with them.

Note: The running man status is determined when the window is first opened or refreshed. To see the latest status, reopen the window or refresh it (press the F5 key on the keyboard if using Microsoft Internet Explorer). Depending on your internet connection speed, the correct running man status may take a few seconds to be displayed.
