AOL Broadband: Troubleshooting checklist

If you've only just had AOL Broadband installed, read the five steps below to help you get up and running.

Has your service been activated?
If this is your first day of service, your AOL Broadband connection may not become active until after 5pm. Please try again after that time. If you continue to experience difficulties getting set up, please contact our Member Services team (see step 5 below).

Is your computer compatible?
You may have problems if you didn't check your computer was compatible before you ordered AOL Broadband. Please check the computer requirements page and upgrade any components that do not meet the minimum standard.

Check your power and connection status
Surprisingly, a lot of problems are caused by a loose lead! Make sure all cables leading to and from your DSL modem, phone line and PC are all plugged in firmly.

Check our Frequently Asked Questions
If you're still having problems, or if you think you might know what may be wrong, check the Frequently Asked Questions and Error Messages pages.
