AOL Browser general settings
The AOL Browser general settings allow you to view the internet properties window for your computer, set the default behaviour for AOL Browser, choose the startup options, and, although not recommended, change the security settings for AOL Browser.
Internet options
If you want to change your internet options for your computer system, or simply need to access the internet options for the computer, you can access them quickly through AOL Browser.
To access internet options:
1. Click the Tools menu, then click Settings.
2. Click the General tab, then click the Internet Options button.
Default behaviour
You can set AOL Browser to be your default web browser, to display thumbnails of websites for previewing, to show a search page if an invalid web address is displayed, or to suggest a folder to place a favourite webpage into when saving it.
Startup options
You can choose to have the home page you've set for Internet Explorer be the same home page that opens in AOL Browser, or change it. You can also choose whether the websites in your startup folder open in separate tabs or not when AOL Browser opens.
Security
AOL does not recommend that you change the default security settings for AOL Browser. However, you can choose to block or unblock ActiveX controls and JavaScripts from web pages you view. You can also choose whether or not a confirmation screen displays when ActiveX controls and JavaScripts are blocked.
