AOL Browser view menu

The AOL Browser view menu gives you options for the way you view websites and the AOL Browser window.

  • Favourites Bar: This option turns on the favourites toolbar, which by default is not displayed. The favourites bar contains fast links to Games, Music, Safety & Security, Downloads, Dating, Community, Pictures, Alerts and Blogs.

  • Status Bar: This option, when checked, displays the TopSpeed and Blocked Pop-ups status at the bottom of the window.

  • Side Panels: This option toggles the visibility of the tabbed panel located vertically down the left side of the browser. By default, the side panels house your History, Channels, and Favourites.

  • Tab Browser: This option shows a thumbnail snapshot of all tabs you currently have open. Click each thumbnail to view a thumbnail history of the web pages you have been browsing in that tab. Click anywhere in the darkened area to return to normal browsing.

  • History: This option opens the History side panel. The History side panel displays your browsing history and provides the number of times you visited the site (in parenthesis) as well as a thumbnail view of the web page. Clicking the Clear My Footprints button at the bottom of the History side panel clears your browsing history, blocked pop-up list and all thumbnails.

  • Go To: This menu includes standard navigation options to go back one page in your navigation history, forward one page, and to load your home page. These menu options work the same as clicking the navigation buttons on the navigation bar.

  • Stop: This option stops the current page you've browsed from continuing to load, and works the same as clicking the Stop button on the navigation bar.

  • Refresh: This option is used to reload or get the most up-to-date version of the current web page. It works the same as clicking the Reload button on the navigation bar.

  • Text Size: This menu lets you adjust the text size from Largest to Smallest, with Medium set as the default.

  • Page Source: This option reveals the source HTML code for the current document.

  • Privacy Report: This option is based on your privacy settings imported from Internet Explorer. It provides cookie details from all or restricted websites.
