You will not be able to send your AOL email through Microsoft Outlook if the correct outgoing mail (SMTP) port is not set.

How to set the outgoing mail port

In order to provide additional security for our members, the AOL and AIM services require that all outgoing mail use port 587 rather than the default port 25.

To set the outgoing mail port:

1. Launch Outlook or Outlook Express.
2. Click the Tools menu, then click Accounts.
3. Highlight the account you want to use by clicking it, then click the Properties button.
4. Click the Advanced tab.
5. In the Outgoing mail (SMTP): box, type 587.
6. Click the OK button.
7. Click the Close button.
