How do AOL’s ad networks and service providers use cookies?

AOL’s ad networks and service providers use cookies, web beacons or similar technologies to help present, better target and measure the effectiveness of their advertisements, using data gathered over time and across their networks of web pages to determine or predict the characteristics and preferences of their audience. For example, ad networks may use cookies to personalise adverts to users that may fit a certain demographic profile, such as “women, living in London, who are interested in travel”. AOL may share non-personally identifiable information about you as an AOL Web Services user (such as user age, gender and post code) with certain ad network providers, including Advertising.com and TACODA, to help them deliver more relevant advertisements through their ad networks. No personally identifiable information about you, like your name, address, email address and phone number, will be collected when you view, or interact with, an advert but the ad network provider may deliver adverts to you more relevant to your interests For more information on how AOL’s ad networks use cookies, click here

AOL also uses third-party site measurement services, like Omniture, to track and measure AOL’s web site traffic. These companies may use information about your visits to the AOL Web Services in order to help AOL improve the content and navigation on the AOL Web Services. If you would like more information about how these companies collect and use information, please visit their privacy policies
