Can I sign on to the AOL software via another internet provider?

If your computer is connected to an office network, or if you're dialling into another Internet Service Provider, you can sign on to your AOL software using this internet connection.

You may wish to print or save a copy of these instructions as this page may not remain visible as you go through the steps.

AOL 9.0 and AOL 9.0 VR users:

  1. Sign off from your AOL software.
  2. On the sign-on screen, click Sign-on options or Connect Options.
  3. Click Create Dial-Up Location.
  4. Select Broadband/Other ISP and click Next.
  5. To sign on to your AOL software, click Sign On.

AOL 8.0 and below:

  1. Sign off from your AOL software.
  2. On the sign-on screen, click Setup, then Add Modem.
  3. Select TCP/IP, then click Next and Next again to return to the sign-on screen.
  4. To sign on to your AOL software, click Sign On.

If you want to change back to a modem or broadband connection, go back to the sign-on screen and choose your modem location (usually called Home or Broadband) from the Location menu.

Note: Any applicable online usage charges will still apply while you are connecting via an office network or other Internet Service Provider. For further information see http://aolbroadband.co.uk or contact AOL Broadband Member Services online.
