When you enter a chat room, the name that other people can see is your screen name.

You can create a maximum of seven screen names, with each having its own profile, mailbox and Parental Controls settings.

Some people like to create a special screen name just for chat. This allows them to choose a different nickname, or a name that gives people a clue about the type of person they are or what they're interested in. Having an extra screen name reserved mostly for chatting also helps avoid receiving unwanted junk email.
