Adding pictures

You can add pictures to any entry. You can add images from Pictures, select a picture that you already have on your computer, or you can use a picture that's already stored in Hometown. When you use Pictures, your readers automatically have the option to view the entire Pictures album in which the picture is contained.

When you click Add entry and then click Add pictures in the Add an entry form, you access Pictures. There are three tabs here:

-- Pictures on My Computer
-- My Albums saved on AOL
-- Albums I've received

Pictures on your computer are images you've downloaded from your digital camera and haven't yet organised into albums. Your albums and albums you've received are collections of digital photographs stored together on an AOL computer. This is the best and easiest way to keep your pictures together.

To use pictures from your computer:

1. Click the Pictures on my computer tab.
2. Browse to find the picture you want.
3. Click Add to my album.
4. Repeat as necessary to add up to eight pictures.

The picture or pictures are both added to an album and to your entry. The process can be quite time-consuming because images are large and need to be transferred from your computer to an AOL computer.

To add pictures from a pictures album:

1. Click either the My albums saved on AOL tab or the Albums I've received tab.
2. Select the album you want to use and locate the pictures within it.
3. Click the pictures to add them to your entry.

For more information, click the film icon on the toolbar.

If you have pictures stored on Hometown you haven't moved to Pictures, you can use those too:

1. Click Add entry and then click Add pictures from Hometown.
2. Open the Hometown folder you want to use from the box on the left.
3. Click on a picture to see it previewed on the right.
4. When you find the picture you want, click OK.
