With the AIM 6.1 software, you can have more than one screen name active for IM sessions. To do this, you must first register additional screen names. If you already have additional screen names, you do not need to register a new one to use this feature.

Link a Screen Name
If you want to have multiple screen names signed on to receive instant messages during the same AIM session, you can link the screen names.

To link a screen name:
1. Sign onto the AIM 6.1 software.
2. On the Buddy List window, click the Edit menu, and then click Settings....
3. Click the Buddy List tab.
4. Under Linked Screen Names: click the Manage Linked Screen Names link.
5. Follow the onscreen instructions to link the screen names.
6. Exit the AIM 6.1 software, then sign back in with your screen name to activate the linked screen name. All linked screen names will now be available to use in your IM session.

Unlink a Screen Name
If you no longer want a screen name linked to the same instant message session, you can unlink it.

To unlink a screen name:
1. Sign onto the AIM 6.1 software.
2. On the Buddy List window, click the Edit menu, and then click Settings....
3. Click the Buddy List tab.
4. Under Linked Screen Names: click the Manage Linked Screen Names link.
5. Follow the onscreen instructions to link the screen names.
6. Exit the AIM 6.1 software, then sign back into the AIM 6.1 software with your screen name to deactivate the linked screen name.
