Can I check what access number is being used?

The easiest way to see what number is being dialled when you are accessing AOL is simply to connect to AOL. At Step 2: Dialling you will the see the actual number being dialled.

You can also check which access number is being used by doing the following:

AOL 9.0 VR and below:

1. Go to the AOL Sign-On Screen and make a note of the current entry in the Select Location drop-down menu.

2. Click Setup (AOL 9.0 VR users click Sign On Options), followed by Expert Setup.

3. Locate the item you made a note of in Step 1 above, this will appear as a heading with a list of numbers underneath it.

4. If you double-click on the heading this will open the Edit Location window. You will see here the name of the location, a list of the access numbers being used and the number of times AOL will try to connect with each number in the list. AOL will try to connect using the number at the top of this list first. If you are using AOL 9.0 VR you will see a list of AOL Access Phone Numbers.

5. To check the exact details of each number double-click it, or click Edit. You will see the details of the number exactly as it will be dialled and have the option to Edit the number.

6. Click Cancel or Close to close this window without making any changes, or OK to save any changes you have made.

AOL 9.0 VR:

1. On the AOL Sign-On Screen click Connect Options.
2. Select a location from the Dial-Up Locations: list.
3. The access numbers and dialling details will be shown in the Dial-Up Location Details: box on the right.
4. To make any changes click Quick Edit.
5. Click Close to return to the Sign-On Screen.
