About the addresses panel on AOL email on the web

The addresses panel on AOL email on the web allows you to quickly access your address aook while in the today, email, calendar and addresses views.

This feature makes it easy for you to find your address book contacts, send email or start an instant message conversation, all while looking at your calendar, reading email, and more.

The addresses panel when on the today, email or calendar view

When on the today, email or calendar tab, the addresses panel will show an alphabetical list of your address book contacts by name. Next to each name will be a presence indicator, letting you know whether or not the person is online. If you wish to send the person an email, hold your mouse over the persons name, then click the email address when it appears. A new email window will open, already addressed to that person.

Note: If you have not setup an email address for the person, a blank email will open, allowing you to manually type it in.

If you click the presence icon next to the person's name, it will open an IM window for that person's screen name. If you have not setup a screen name with that person's contact information in your address book, a blank IM window will open, allowing you to type it in.

The addresses panel when on the addresses view

When you are on the addresses tab, the addresses panel will allow you to customise your address book view. You can choose to filter the list by a category, such as family or friends, or you can jump to a last name by clicking on a letter. All entries whose last name starts with that letter will be highlighted.
