How do I block junk email my child receives?

The best way to prevent spam or junk email is to use Email Controls to restrict who can send email to your child.

To block unwanted email using Email Controls:

1. Go to Parental Controls.
Note: You must be signed on with your master screen name to set email controls.
2. Click the screen name for whom you are setting the email controls.
3. Scroll to the Email Controls section.
4. Choose the settings that you wish this screen name to have.
5. Click Save.

Email controls provide the following settings:

Allow your child to email with:
  • Anyone: All email is allowed.
  • Only members: Your child can receive email from any member. Email will not be received from outside email addresses.
  • Only people in this screen names address book: Your child can only receive email from people in their Address Book.
  • Only senders I list: Your child can receive email only from those addresses you allow.
  • No senders I list: Your child can receive all email except email from those addresses that you block.
  • No one: Your child cannot receive any email.

If you wish, you may also tick the options to block email containing Hyperlinks, Pictures & Files and certain Words & Phrases. This will prevent your child from receiving any email containing any of these items, regardless of who they come from.
