How do I cancel my membership?

We're sorry to hear that you're considering cancelling your AOL Broadband membership. Before you go any further, sign-on to the AOL software and visit http://aolbroadband.co.uk/broadband for some reminders of the benefits available to you as an AOL Broadband member.

Please choose which of the following applies to you:

  1. You are within your 7-day cooling-off period
You have the right to cancel your order for AOL Broadband for a period of seven working days, starting from the first working day after the day on which you enter into the AOL Broadband Agreement. A working day is any day except Saturday, Sunday and UK public holidays. You can cancel your order during this 'Cooling-Off Period' by calling Member Services or by sending us an email at http://aolbroadband.co.uk/cancelbb.
  2. Your 7-day cooling-off period has ended
If your cooling-off period has ended, you remain bound by a legally binding minimum-term contract as per the terms and conditions you have agreed to. You may buy out the remaining months of your contract with a one-off payment.

  3. Your minimum contract has ended
You may cancel AOL Broadband once your minimum contract has expired.

If you use a BT line to access AOL Broadband and you want to move your broadband connection to another broadband provider (who is not a cable provider), you can ask for your service to be migrated to them through use of a MAC code. Please note that this option is only available where your AOL Broadband service has been fully provisioned prior to you cancelling your AOL Broadband subscription.

When you contact Member Services to ask for your subscription to be cancelled or for a MAC code to be issued, we will need to verify your identity. For this reason, please have the payment information you provided when you registered with AOL Broadband (eg credit card or bank account number) close to hand. Please note that when your account is cancelled, you will receive a four-digit confirmation number. You should keep this number for future reference.
