How do I create a free e-mail address on AOL Mail?

Yes you can create a screen name while registering for your AOL service.

Your AOL screen name is your online identity. The screen name, which is also your e-mail address, is visible to everyone when you communicate with others online. Your screen name will appear in e-mail, on the Buddy List, in instant messages and in message posts exactly as you have created it. Every AOL screen name is unique.

Screen names are not case sensitive, so they may be typed any way you like and they will still be recognized. For example, JohnQDoe is the same as johnqdoe or JOHNQDOE.

Each screen name will require its own password to sign on to the AOL service.

Note: You can use your AOL screen name and password on the AIM service. You no longer need a separate password to sign in to AIM. You can also change the password for your AOL screen name when you are on AIM. If you do so, you'll need to use the new password to sign on to the AOL service.
