How do I search for things on the web?

While the web contains a huge amount of information, searching for a particular item or topic online can, at times, prove difficult because of the disorganised nature of the web.

The easiest way to find information on the web is to use a search engine - which searches through millions of web pages to find what you're interested in.

There are literally hundreds of search engines available. AOL provides its own, called AOL Search - to use it, just go to AOL Keyword: Search. Once the page appears on your screen, simply type what you're looking for and click the Search button to start searching.

Tip: If you're having trouble finding web sites of interest, try making your search more specific. The best way of doing this is to type in as many relevant words as you can when searching for something.
