How long will the house move transfer process take?
If you are a broadband subscriber
- The transfer process will take approximately 20 working days depending on whether you keep the same number or change to a new one.
- If you get a new phone number, it will take approximately 10 working days from the activation date of your new phone number. If you are going to change your phone number when you move house, please make sure that you contact BT first, to obtain details of your new number.
- If you keep the same number when you move house, it will take approximately 20 working days to activate broadband at your new address.
If you use AOL Talk
- It takes approximately 21 working days for AOL Talk to be transferred over to a new telephone number.
- If BT has confirmed that you are keeping the same telephone number, we advise you to notify BT that you have a CPS service and that you need this to be retained on your number.
- Your new address must have an active BT phone line.
- During the house move process there will be a cease in your AOL Talk service. During this time BT will bill you for any calls that you make.
- You will receive a letter from us at the address that is on your AOL account informing you when AOL Talk is at your new address/number. To change the address that we have for you please visit Keyword: Name & Address.
