How to cancel your broadband membership if you are within your cooling off period

You have the right to cancel your order for AOL Broadband for a period of 7 working days, starting from the first working day after the day on which you enter into the AOL Broadband Agreement. You also have the right to cancel your order for the broadband modem or modem router (the ''Equipment''), starting from 7 working days following the first working day after the day on which you receive the modem. A working day is any day except Saturday, Sunday and UK public holidays.

If you cancel AOL Broadband during either of these cooling-off periods you will return to the price plan you were on prior to ordering AOL Broadband. If you have received your AOL Broadband easy-install pack, you will also have to return the equipment. If you fail to return the equipment in good condition within 28 days, then you will be responsible for payment of the cost of the equipment.

After these cooling-off periods have expired, you will be tied to the full minimum term contract (if applicable) as per the AOL Broadband Terms & Conditions.

Note: If you are upgrading from an existing AOL Broadband product, you have a cooling-off period of seven working days starting the working day after which you enter into the AOL Broadband Contract Renewal Agreement. After this cooling-off period has expired, you will be tied to the full duration of any minimum contract you might have entered into.

If you still wish to cancel your membership
You can cancel your order for a modem during the cooling-off period by contacting Member Services where an agent will be happy to assist you with this or any other request.

If you use a BT line to access AOL Broadband and you want to move your broadband connection to another broadband provider (who is not a cable provider), you can ask for your service to be migrated across through use of a MAC code. Please note that this option is only available where your AOL Broadband service has been fully provisioned prior to you cancelling your AOL Broadband subscription.

When you contact Member Services to ask for your subscription to be cancelled or for a MAC code to be issued, we will need to verify your identity. For this reason, please have the payment information you provided when you registered with AOL Broadband (eg credit card or bank account number) close at hand. Please note, when your account is cancelled, you will receive a four-digit confirmation number, which you should keep for future reference.
