Install the AOL software as a new member
You can install or reinstall a new copy of AOL software from an installation CD or download it from AOL on the web.
You may wish to print or save a copy of these instructions, as this page may not remain visible as you go through the suggested steps.
You will need to know what version of the Microsoft Windows operating system is installed on your computer. If you do not know how to find this information, follow the instructions found at: How to determine which version of Windows I have.
Warning: Before you start the installation process, it is recommended that you exit all other programs that may be running on your computer to avoid any conflicts and complete the connection setup process.
Install AOL software if you don't have an AOL account
The automatic installation program will guide you through the process of setting up an internet connection and creating a new AOL account.
-- Install AOL software as a new member using an AOL CD:
1. If you are using Windows 2000 or Windows XP, you need to login to your computer as Administrator in order to install the AOL software.
2. Insert the AOL installation CD into the CD drive. The set up program should start automatically.
3. Click the New Member button, then follow the onscreen instructions to complete the process.
-- Download AOL software from AOL on the web with an existing internet connection
You can download AOL 9.0 VR directly from the internet. This version of AOL is compatible with Windows Vista and XP only.
1. Visit http://info.aol.co.uk/downloads.
2. Under the Download the latest version of AOL section, click the Get it now link.
3. Click the Download button, then follow the onscreen instructions.
4. Once the download is complete click the New Member button, then follow the onscreen instructions to register as a new member.
