Instant message icons and other settings
You can change your instant message settings in your IM
Preferences. There you'll find some useful (and fun) options,
including:
- Display time stamp on instant messages:
Automatically displays the time alongside every IM you send or receive. - Use my address book and Buddy List to auto-suggest screen
names:
Using this option can save you time and prevents you incorrectly typing someone's screen name when you're sending them an IM, by suggesting names based on people in your Address Book. - Reduce the size of my IM form by hiding the Buddy
Icons:
Version 7.0 users and above can choose from a wide range of colourful icons to personalise their IMs. These icons appear alongside your message whenever you send someone else an IM, and they also appear alongside your name in other people's Buddy Lists.
There are literally dozens of fun and colourful icons to choose from, including Looney Tunes, Harry Potter and more!
