You can connect your PS3 using either a wired or wireless connection. Please set up your AOL Broadband supported modem router and ensure that you have a working internet connection before you setup your PlayStation 3 connection.
Connect to your wireless network
If you choose to connect wirelessly you will need your PS3 and an AOL Broadband supported wireless modem router. You will also need to know the following settings before you begin:
- The network name or SSID of your wireless network.
- If your wireless network access is security enabled, you will need to know your WEP or WPA Network Key (password).
To connect your PlayStation 3 to your wireless network:
1. From your PS3 main menu, select Settings, Network Settings and Internet Connection settings, then press the X button.
2. If you receive a message saying 'If you perform Internet Connection Settings, the system will be disconnected. Do you want to continue?', select Yes.
3. Select Wireless as your connection method and press right on the directional pad to continue.
4. Select Scan and press right again .

From the list, select your network name (SSID) and press X.

On the next screen, press the right button to continue.
7. Select your wireless networks security method - either WEP or WPA. If you do not have any security set up on your wireless network, select None. Press the right button.
8. If a security key is required an input page will appear. Press X to bring up the on-screen keyboard. Use the keyboard to enter your security key, then press the Start button on your pad.
9. Press right on the directional pad to continue.
10. Select Automatic and press right again.
11. The settings will be displayed. If correct, press the X button. If changes are required use the left button on the directional pad to return to previous pages.
12. To test the connection press X. The PS3 will attempt to connect to the access point.
Connect to your wired network
If you choose to connect using wires, you will need your PlayStation 3, an AOL Broadband supported modem router and an ethernet cable. Connect one end of the ethernet cable to a spare port on your modem router and the other end to the LAN port at the back of the PS3, then follow the steps below.
To connect your PlayStation 3 to your wired network:
1. From your PS3 main menu, select Settings, Network Settings and Internet Connection settings, then press the X button.
2. If you receive a message saying 'If you perform Internet Connection Settings, the system will be disconnected. Do you want to continue?', select Yes.
3. Select Wired as your connection method and press right on the directional pad to continue.
4. Select Automatic and press right again.
5. The settings will be displayed. If correct, press the X button. If changes are required use the left button on the directional pad to return to previous pages.
6. To test the connection press X. The PS3 will attempt to connect to the access point.
