Password saved on AOL WebSuite Basic version

AOL WebSuite Basic always requires your screen name and password. However, some Web browsers may bypass this security measure to make Web browsing more convenient.

Note: If you are not using either Microsoft® Internet Explorer® 5.0 or higher or Netscape® 7.0 or higher, please consult your Web browser's documentation for assistance on how to disable the user name and password storage.

Disable the Microsoft® Internet Explorer® AutoComplete feature

Microsoft Internet Explorer has an AutoComplete feature that stores user names and passwords for Web sites.

To disable Microsoft Internet Explorer AutoComplete for Internet Explorer® 7.0:

1. Click the Start button, select All Programs or Programs, then click Internet Explorer.
2. In the upper right, click the Tools menu, then click Internet Options.
3. Click the Content tab.
4. In the AutoComplete section, click the Settings button.
5. In the Use AutoComplete for section, click the User names and passwords on forms box to clear it.

Note: Disabling this option also disables the Prompt me to save passwords option.

6. Click the OK button.
7. Click the General tab.
8. In the Browsing history section, click the Delete button.
9. Click the Delete forms button.
10. Click the Yes button.
11. Click the Delete passwords button.
12. Click the Yes button.
13. Click the Close button to close the Delete Browsing History window.
14. Click the OK button to close the Internet Options window.

To disable Microsoft Internet Explorer AutoComplete for Internet Explorer 6.0 or lower:

1. Click the Start button, select All Programs or Programs, then click Internet Explorer.
2. Click the Tools menu, then click Internet Options.
3. Click the Content tab.
4. In the Personal information section, click the AutoComplete button.
5. In the Use AutoComplete for section, click the User names and passwords on forms box to clear it.

Note: Disabling this option also disables the Prompt me to save passwords option.

6. In the Clear AutoComplete history section, click the Clear Forms button.
7. Click the OK button.
8. Click the Clear Passwords button.
9. Click the OK button.
10. Click the OK button to close the AutoComplete Settings window.
11. Click the OK button to close the Internet Options window.
12. Click the X button in the upper right to close the Internet Explorer window.
