Report IM spam

Messaging spam, sometimes called SPIM, is a type of spam where the target is instant messaging services.

Report IM spam

If you receive an IM which appears to be spam, you can report it to the AIM service. If the sender is on your Buddy List, you must first remove them from your buddy list before reporting the spam.

To report IM spam:

1. Click the Report IM Spam link on the IM window.
2. Click the Notify us that this IM is offensive or threatening box to place a tick in it or clear it.
3. Click the Block all IMs from (screenname) box to select it or clear it.

Note: To report IM spam, you must place a tick in at least one of the two boxes. You can choose both, or just the most appropriate one of the two.

4. Click the OK button.
