How do I delete my Temporary Internet Files?
You can delete the record of the most recent web pages you have visited as follows:
Windows Vista:
- Click Start, then Control Panel.
- Double-click the Internet Options icon.
- In the 'Browsing History' section, click Delete...
- Click Delete files... and Delete history....
- Click Close and then click OK.
Windows XP and below:
- On the Windows Start menu, go to Settings, then click Control Panel.
For Windows XP - click Start, then select Control Panel. In the Control Panel, ensure that the classic view is selected (by clicking Switch to classic view on the top left hand corner).
- Double-click the Internet Options (or Internet) icon.
- In the 'Temporary Internet Files' section, click on Delete
Files... and then click OK.
- Click on Clear History and then click Yes.
To delete your temporary internet files using your AOL software:
- Sign-on to AOL and go to AOL Keyword: Preferences. AOL 9.0 VR users should then select the By Category tab and click the Internet (Web) Options link, while users of AOL 8.0 and below click Internet Properties (WWW).
- In the Temporary Internet Files section, click on Delete Files... and then click OK.
- Click on Clear History and then click Yes.
To delete your AOL History Trail (which displays the last 25 places you've been on AOL on your AOL toolbar):
- Sign-on to AOL and go to AOL Keyword: Preferences.
- AOL 9.0 VR users should then click on the Toolbar link on the Essentials tab, while users of AOL 8.0 and below click Toolbar & Sound.
- Click Clear History Trail Now.
- Click Yes.
