How do I uninstall my AOL software?
If you need to free up space on your computer or are having problems with the AOL software, you may need to uninstall it.
Note: Ensure you have an AOL CD or a downloaded copy of the setup file before you uninstall so you can reinstall the software.
You may wish to print these instructions before you begin:
To uninstall AOL
1. Close the AOL software.
2. On the Windows Start menu, click Settings, then Control Panel.
Windows XP/Vista users: Click Start, then click Control Panel.
3. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
Windows Vista users: Click Programs and Features.
4. Select AOL UK or AOL Uninstaller, then click Add/Remove or Change/Remove.
Windows Vista users: Click Uninstall/Change.
5. In the version list, select the version or copy of the AOL software you want to remove, then click Next or Uninstall.
Notes:
- If you do not see the version of AOL you wish to uninstall on the list, click on the Search for older versions of AOL link on the bottom left of the screen.
- If you are using AOL 8.0 or below and have downloaded files or saved email in your Personal Filing Cabinet you wish to keep, make sure the Downloaded Files and Personal Filing Cabinet checkboxes are ticked. If ticked, these files will be copied to your desktop.
6. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the uninstall process.
