What are instant message controls?

The instant message controls in Parental Controls let you customise your child's instant messaging experience. You can determine whether or not your child can send and receive instant messages (IMs). You can also determine whether or not to block files, images, voice, and video within IMs.

To use instant message controls:
1. Go to Parental Controls.
Note: You must be signed on with your master screen name to set instant message controls.
2. Click on the screen name for whom you are setting the instant message controls.
3. Scroll to the Instant Message Controls section.
4. Choose the setting that is most appropriate for the user of the screen name.
5. Click Save.
