What are the age categories?
The different age categories - Kids Only, Young Teen, Mature Teen, and General Access (18+) - offer increasing access to what your child can see and do online. Kids Only is the most restrictive category while General (18 and older) is the least restrictive.
- Kid (12 and under)
Allows access to age-appropriate features and content through the Kids channel and the rest of the internet (when accessed through our service). Premium services and instant messages are blocked. Limited email, instant messaging and monitored kids chat.
- Young Teen (13-15)
Allows access to age-appropriate interactive features and information on our service and the rest of the internet (when accessed through our service). Premium services and instant messages, as well as private and member chat rooms, are blocked.
- Mature Teen (16-17)
Allows the most freedom of all children's categories. Gives access to most interactive features and information on our and the rest of the internet (when accessed through our service). Web sites with explicitly mature content are blocked.
- General (18 and older)
Allows full access to all features and content on our service and the rest of the internet.
