What changes will I experience as a result of the network changes?

There are certain services that will work differently on the new network. The nature of these vary dependent on whether you are a dial-up or a broadband customer.

These services are:

  • All customers: Parental Controls
Parental Controls were designed for use with our current network and software. They will still work on the new network, but within the AOL software only. We advise that you download additional software - Internet Access Controls - so that you can continue to help protect your children from online threats if they surf the internet using a browser other than the AOL software, eg Internet Explorer.

  • Broadband customers: Pay as you go dial-up
There may have been occasions where you have accessed a dial-up connection, using an 0845 pay as you go number. This feature will eventually be removed from direct use and you will need to call Member Services if you require a similar service.

  • Dial-up customers: Using dial-up connection when travelling
The process for this will be different on the new network and will no longer work directly through the AOL software. If you need this type of access, please contact Member Services.
