What is the World Wide Web and how do I use it?
The World Wide Web (or just 'the web' for short) is the most popular feature of the internet, next to email.
The easiest way to think of the web is like a giant magazine, with millions of pages covering every possible subject - from Arsenal to astronauts or from zoology to ZZ Top. Whatever you're interested in, you'll be able to find web pages about it.
To start using the web through your AOL software, sign-on and go to Keyword: Internet, AOL's web site containing several handy links to help get you started. The most useful of these is AOL Search - helping you to find the things that interest you most on the web.
And remember - whenever you're on a web page, any words you see which are coloured blue and underlined are called 'hyperlinks'. Clicking on a hyperlink will bring you to another web page related to the web page you're currently on.
So click around - or try a search - and see what you can find!
