I'm moving house - what should I do?

To make sure your internet access and telephone service remain uninterrupted when you move house, follow these steps:

Update your contact details

Update the contact details on your account with your new address in Manage your account*. You can do this as soon as you know your new address.


If you connect via broadband

Ensure that your broadband internet service transitions to your new address smoothly by submitting a broadband house move request on the day or the day before your new phone line is active. It takes approximately 20 working days to process a house move request. The house move process will begin from the date your new phone line is activated.

Note: Please ensure that your new phone number is activated with BT and updated in the BT database to eliminate any delays in processing your house move request.


If you use AOL Talk

Submit a house move request for AOL Talk online in Manage your account*. This will ensure that your telephone service moves to your new address smoothly. This should be done approximately one month before you move, as it takes approximately 21 working days to process the request. The house move process will begin from the date your new phone line is activated.

Note: Please ensure that your new phone number is activated with BT and updated in the BT database to eliminate any delays processing your house move.


If you use dial-up access

Update your access numbers by going to AOL Keyword: Best Number and entering the telephone number of your new house. It is best to do this immediately before you move.

*When you access Manage your account for the first time you may be asked to download and install the latest version of Adobe Flash Player if it is not already installed on your computer. This will take a few minutes to download and install.
