The Screen Name Service solves the frustrating experience of balancing multiple accounts, identities, and passwords for all the places you visit on the web.
With the service, you can use a single screen name and password to safely, securely and conveniently access and personalise sites across the web.
- Ease of use: Whenever you are online, you only need to sign in once with your personal screen name - to the service or directly at a participating web site - and then can visit popular web sites without having to enter a different username and password over and over.
- Private, stored profile: You can set up a single secure, stored profile of typical web site registration information and then use it over and over again with your screen name to register at participating sites. There's no need to manually type in the information at each site. When you use your profile to register, you first get to review and approve what information is sent to the partner. You control what's in your profile. You will be able to easily review and update your profile from the My Profile area.
- Complete control: Your profile gives you complete control over what information you want any participating partner web site to have. And, whenever you update your profile you can have the Screen Name Service update that information at the sites you choose - you only have to do it once and we will handle the rest.
- Security and privacy: We will authenticate all your information when you register at a participating screen name site.
We are deeply committed to your security. We use encryption and authentication technologies to help protect your personal information from unauthorised external access, but cannot guarantee that your personally identifiable information will never be disclosed in a manner inconsistent with this Policy (for example, in the event of unauthorised acts by third parties that violate applicable law). Only those employees needed to provide you the service are authorised to access your information. In addition, your password information is not shared with participating sites, and encryption is used when you authenticate on our servers to help ensure the security of your information while you use the service. Sites participating in the service may not collect or store your password information.
