This article explains how to write, reply or forward an e-mail using the AOL WebSuite Basic. There is also information on how to check spelling and set-up a signature on the Web service.

Write e-mail on AOL WebSuite Basic Version

You can send e-mail to AOL users or other e-mail addresses using the AOL WebSuite Basic.

To write an e-mail:

1. Go to http://www.aol.co.uk.
2. Sign in using your screen name and password, then click the Basic Version link.
3. Click the Write Mail button, to open the write mail window.

Note: You can discard an e-mail before sending it by closing the write mail window. If you close the write mail window, the e-mail is immediately discarded and it cannot be retrieved.

4. In the To box, type the e-mail address of the person to whom you want to send the e-mail. To send the same e-mail to multiple recipients, separate the e-mail addresses with commas.

Notes:

Click the Cc or Bcc link. In the Cc or Bcc boxes, type the e-mail addresses of people who would need to receive a copy of the e-mail.

If you send an e-mail to an AOL user, you may type the user's screen name alone in the To, Cc, or Bcc boxes. If you intend to send it to someone using another Internet Service Provider (ISP), you must include the entire e-mail address, including the domain, for example, address@domain.com. In such cases, leaving out any portion of the e-mail address will make the e-mail undeliverable.

5. In the Subject: box, type a subject for your e-mail.
6. Type your message in the large text box.
Note: If you enable the Rich Text/HTML Editing feature, the write mail window allows you to use color, add formatting, and choose a font for the text. To enable this feature click the Switch to rich text editor link, in the write mail window.
7. Attach any files you wish to include with the e-mail, by clicking the Browse button, next to the attachment box.
8. On the upper left, click the Send button.
