About events on TalkTalk Mail

An event is an occurrence that starts and ends on a single day. Events are added to your calendar and may be any one of several different types.
Examples of event types include Appointments, Birthdays, and Business Meetings. Events can occur once, or ay repeat at regular intervals. Events are displayed on the calendar panel and the color of the event corresponds to the calendar with which it is associated.

About tasks on TalkTalk Mail

A task is something you need to complete. You specify the task priority, whether or not the task has a due date and time, and whether you want a reminder about when the task is due to be completed. Tasks are listed on the Tasks tab in the panel on the left side of the page and will not be displayed on your calendar.


Schedule an Event

In order for an event to appear on your calendar, it must be scheduled in the calendar. To schedule an event that will occur only once:

1. Sign in to your TalkTalk Mail account using your Username and password.
2. Above the panel on the right side of the page, click the Calendar button.
3. Above the calendar, click Add Event. The Edit Event window will be opened with the Edit tab selected. An event is an occurrence that starts and ends on a single day. Note: If the drop-down menus on the Edit Event window are not working, you must upgrade your browser to the latest version.

4. Type an identifying name for this event in the Event: box.
5. Click the arrow icons to select the month in which the event will occur, then select the date.
6. Select the time at which the event will begin.
7. Select the time at which the event will end.

Note: If this is an all-day event, instead of specifying the start time and duration, you may prefer to click the box next to the All Day box.

8. If you want a reminder to be displayed prior to the start of the event, click the Remind me at drop-down menu.
9. Click the Day of event drop-down menu, select the type of event, then click it.
10. If desired, type a note about this event in the Add Note box.
11. Click Save.

To schedule a repeating event:

1. Follow steps 1 to 11 above to schedule an event.
2. Click the Doesn't repeat drop-down arrow, and then select the appropriate frequency for the event.
3. Click the Save button.


Types of events

You can assign an event type to each event. The events types available are:

  • Anniversary
  • Appointment
  • Birthday
  • Business Meeting
  • Entertainment
  • Health Appointment
  • Holiday
  • Other
  • Party
  • School
  • Sport Event

Edit or delete an existing event

Events are listed in the Month, Week, and Day calendar views, and in the Events calendar view.

To edit an existing event:

1. From any calendar view in which events are listed, click the name of the event you wish to edit.
2. Click the Edit tab, then make your changes.
3. Click Save.

To delete an existing event:

1. From any calendar view in which events are listed, click the name of the event you wish to delete.
2. Click Delete.
3. Click OK.


View the events or tasks List

To view the list of events on all calendars:

Above the calendar in the right panel, click the Events button.

To view the list of tasks on all calendars:

Above the calendar in the right panel, click the Tasks button.

To return to one of the calendar views:

Above the calendar in the right panel, click the Month, Week, or Day button.


Define a task

Defining a task helps you to remember what the task was for and why it is important to complete.

1. Sign in to your TalkTalk Mail account using your Username and password.
2. On the panel on the left side of the page, click the Tasks tab. A list of your tasks will be listed.
3. Click the Add a Task link. The Edit Task window will be open to the Details tab.

Note: If the drop-down menus on the Edit Task window are not working, you must upgrade your browser to the latest version.

4. Type an identifying name for this task in the Task: box.
5. To specify whether this task is open or has been completed, next to Status: click the Open or Closed option.
6. Click the Priority: drop-down menu, select the priority, then click it.
7. If this task has no due date, click to mark the None option. If this task has a due date, click to mark the second option, then specify the date and time at which the task is due.
8. If you want a reminder to be displayed prior to the due date, click the Reminder: box to place a tick in it, click the Remind Me drop-down menu, select how long before the due date you want to be reminded, then click it.
9. Type any notes associated with the task in the Note: box.
10. Click Save.


Edit or Delete a Task

Tasks are listed on the Tasks tab in the panel on the left side of the page.

1. Click the Tasks tab, then click the name of the task you wish to edit. The Edit Task window will be opened with the Summary tab selected.

2. Click the Details tab, then make your changes.
3. Click the Save button.

To delete an existing task:

1. Click the Tasks tab, then click the name of the task you wish to edit. The Edit Task window will be opened with the Summary tab selected.
2. Click the Delete button.


Close a task

If you have completed a task or no longer need a particular task opened, you can close it. To close an open task:

1. Click the name of the task you wish to edit. The Edit Task window will open with the Summary tab selected.
Note: If the drop-down menus on the Edit Task window are not working, you must upgrade your browser to the latest version.
2. Click the Details tab.
3. Next to Status: click the Completed option to mark it.
4. Click Save.
