If you’re unable to install McAfee Internet Security Suite - Special edition from AOL, below are the solutions to resolve the issue. After trying the first solution, check whether you’re able to install McAfee. If it doesn't fix the problem, continue onto the next solution.

Solution #1: Check whether the computer meets the minimum system requirements for McAfee

Note: McAfee Internet Security Suite - Special edition from AOL is compatible with Windows Vista 64-bit operating system; however, it is not compatible with Windows XP 64-bit operating system.


Solution #2: Delete Temp Files

1. Click the Start menu and select Run.

2. Type %temp% and click OK.

3. Delete all temp files by clicking on the file and selecting Delete this folder.

Note: You may also run the MCPR tool by. 


Solution #3: Forgot password for my McAfee account

Do you have trouble installing McAfee Internet Security Suite because you forgot the password to your McAfee account? If so, please follow the steps mentioned below:

1. Go to http://home.mcafee.com/Default.aspx

2. Click Forgot your password link. The password will be sent to your email address that you have used to create your McAfee account.

3. Log in to your McAfee account with your Email Address and the new Password.

4. Click ACTIVE tab to download the software.


Solution #4: McAfee is showing a blank screen while attempting to install / reinstall the software

You can use the McAfee Consumer Product Removal tool (MCPR) to remove data completely for a McAfee Security product installation on a supported Windows operating system. The tool can clean up data from 2005 - 2012 versions of McAfee Security home user products for Windows.
